1. Rila Monastery

The carving dates back to more than 1000 years but still the image of a horseman with a spear, a wounded lion, fallen at the feet of the horse and a hunting dog, is pretty  much visible. 3. Boyana Church

Another UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sofia, Bulgaria is the Boyana Church “St. Nicholas and St. Panteleimon”. Located at the foot of Vitosha Mountains, the church holds unique traits of its existence. It was built in the end of the 10^th and the beginning of the 11^th century. The church stands out for the several layers of frescoes.
